Winter holidays 2011

In July, Buenos Aires gets ready for children. Winter holidays take place at schools and thousands of children from the city, our country and visitors crowd the streets, cinema theatres and squares. There are more than a hundred of theatre performances waits for them. Museums prepare special exhibitions for them. There are circus, puppets and musicals. Cultural centres organize activities and workshops and even amusement parks and zoos get special promotions.

Museo de los Niños Abasto
July, 8th to 31st
The miniature city where children feel like adults offers different shows for these winter holidays in addition to traditional activities and museum visits.

El cascanueces y las princesas encantadas
May, 1st to July, 17th
Version for children of the classic work by Tchaikovsky in charge of the “Ballet Metropolitano de Buenos Aires”. The cast is composed of Karina Olmedo and Nahuel Prozzi, with choreography of Leonardo Reale.

The Original Harlem Globetrotters
July, 20th to 22nd
The traditional basket team celebrates its 85th anniversary with a world tour. In this opportunity, it will present its classic performance, mixture of sports and show, really fascinating for children and adults.

Calidoscopio
June, 5th to July, 31st
Performance of black theatre presented by Antoaneta Madjarova and the Group Kukla. Calidoscopio is a series of images and colours that two children start to know and face the world through a magic trip. On winter holidays, from Wed. to Sun. @ 4pm.
