Biking in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is slowly becoming a bicycle-friendly city. Tourists can now explore the city by bike, using the Public Transportation System in Bikes (PBTS), which is part of the “Mejor en Bici” program (Better by Bike) designed by the City Government of Buenos Aires.

Each visitor must register with a passport at any of the 28 stations where bikes can be withdrawn.

The closest bike stations to Home Hotel are Distrito audiovisual (Dorrego & Gorriti) and Pacifico (Santa Fe ave & Juan B. Justo ave.). There is a special website where you can check the bike availability online.

Also, there is a map of the different bike lanes around Buenos Aires that we suggest you to download and print, if you are planning to ride the bike.

The Public Transport Service provides the user a bike and a helmet as well as instructional safety tips for driving in the city. This service operates from Monday through Friday from 8 to 20 pm and Saturdays from 9 to 15 hours. The maximum use of the bike is one hour and those who want to use it longer must renew in any station.

This service is an addition to the tourist and cultural offer of the city, that aims to encourage tourists to experience a different way of visiting locals circuits, with greater independence.

Have you ever thought of biking in Buenos Aires as a tourist? Now you can do so (and don’t forget to tell us your experience!).
