Le Parc Lumière

leparc

A selection of historical works of the great Argentine maestro Julio Le Parc (Mendoza, 1928) belonging to the Daros Latinamerica Collection (Zurich) is being exhibited at MALBA museum. The exhibition focuses on the kinetic experiences that Le Parc carried out mainly in the 60s.

Fourteen years after his last major retrospective in the country, MALBA museum brings back to the local public the magical world of Le Parc, one of Argentina’s most important artists of the 20th century, recognized in 1966 with the International Grand Prize for Painting at the XXXIII Biennial Venice. For this exhibition, rather than making another retrospective of the master, it was decided to focus on one of the most important aspects of the artist’s output: his concern for the alterations of light in motion.

Le Parc’s scientific and mechanical investigations resulted in random interesting play of light and shadows, in which the participation of the viewer completes the work of art with their presence.
